As the previous editions from the ‘vintage-inspired‘ Reverso were mostly fitted having a time-only (see here) or perhaps a small-second manual movement (see here and here), this latest edition posseses an automatic movement with central second. You may think this really is odd poor a Reverso, however, this watch is very near to some 1930s / 1940s vintage editions - and not the most usual ones without a doubt. Check out this red lacquered dial edition that fetched an archive cost in an Antiquorum auction, having a cost of CHF 50.000. Take also a glance at this brown dial edition produced in the 1940s. Both were outfitted with this particular unusual but excellent ‘Seconde Centrale’ layout. In the words of JLC, this latest Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 1931 Seconde Centrale is inspired with a 1935 model outfitted using the Calibre 411.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 1931 Seconde Centrale includes a two-step dial, by having an inner / central white-colored minute-track and extended powdered numerals and hour-markers inside a gilded colour - a stop that can be found around the hands. This round layout totally changes the face area from the Reverso, that always has a squarish dial and sub-dials. Due to this new Central Second, the movement can also be different. it’s the Calibre Jaeger-LeCoultre 966A, a computerized engine with central rotor and 38 hrs of power reserve.Due to its self-winding mechanism, the movement of the new Reverso Seconde Centrale is slightly thicker compared to manual one cased within the Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 - 4.20mm when compared with 2.94mm. The situation is thus also thicker and measures 9.2mm (versus. 7.3mm for that Ultra-Thin Tribute to 1931). This latest addition is just obtainable in 18k white-colored gold with black dial edition. The situation remains stylishly sized at 46.8mm x 27.4mm, producing a discreet and delicate check out the wrist.
